Terahertz time domain spectroscopy allows contactless monitoring of grapevine water status

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2015
Agriculture is the sector with the greatest water consumption, since food production is frequently based on crop irrigation. Proper irrigation management requires reliable information on plant water status, but all the plant-based methods to determine it

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Assessing integrated water status in drip-irrigated maize fields using UAV multispectral data and machine learning algorithms

open access: yesAgricultural Water Management
Accurate monitoring of farmland water status is critical for improving water resource use efficiency and enhancing agricultural system resilience. Monitoring either soil moisture content or plant water content alone fails to reveal the overall water ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Design and development of reverse osmosis (RO) plant status monitoring system for early fault prediction and predictive maintenance

open access: yesApplied Water Science, 2018
Automation and reliability are the crucial elements of any advance reverse osmosis plant to meet the environmental and economic demands. Early fault indication, diagnosis and regular maintenance are the key challenges with most of the reverse osmosis ...

Relationship between Plant Water Status and Water Movement in Tomato.

open access: yesEngei Gakkai zasshi, 1993
Water economy between leaf and fruit in tomato plant was studied to establish a water management practice based on plant water status.1. Relationships among stem, leaf, and fruit water potentials in tomato plants are influ- enced by soil moisture status.
