Triboelectric Insoles with Normal‐Shear Plantar Stress Perception

Advanced Functional Materials
Plantar stress perception is highly desired in sports science and medical research, with the constraint of external power supply to impede the portability and flexibility in daily life. Triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) opens a new avenue for self‐power

Plantar fibromatosis

Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, 2005
Plantar fibromatosis is defined as a benign fibrous disorder involving the plantar aponeurosis. Although its incidence is well described on the hands, it is less commonly seen on the feet, and its etiology is unknown. A differential diagnosis for the heel pain along the medial arch could be a benign thickening of the plantar fascia associated with ...

How can the stimulation of plantar cutaneous receptors improve postural control? Review and clinical commentary.

Neurophysiologie clinique, 2019
Postural control requires constant and subconscious postural sway to manage balance and achieve postural stability. These movements of regulation are based in particular on cutaneous plantar information.

Foot arch deformation and plantar fascia loading during running with rearfoot strike and forefoot strike: A dynamic finite element analysis.

Journal of Biomechanics, 2019
Forefoot strike becomes popular among runners because it facilitates better impact attenuation. However, forefoot strike may overload the plantar fascia and impose risk of plantar fasciitis.

Plantar Acceleration Time: A Novel Technique to Evaluate Arterial Flow to the Foot.

Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2019
BACKGROUND Arterial duplex ultrasound (DUS) and ankle-brachial indices (ABIs) are accepted methods for assessing lower limb arterial perfusion. However, in a significant number of diabetic patients, medial wall calcification often precludes an ABI ...

Plantar cellulitis

Pediatric Emergency Care, 1994
An unusual case of acute cellulitis of the foot in a child is reported. The child failed to respond to standard treatment even after removal of an occult foreign body. Wound cultures revealed Klebsiella oxytoca and Citrobacter freundii. This is the first documented report on Klebsiella oxytoca in cellulitis.

Differences in skin blood flow oscillations between the plantar and dorsal foot in people with diabetes mellitus and peripheral neuropathy.

Microvascular Research, 2019
BACKGROUND Understanding the differences in skin blood flow (SBF) on the plantar and dorsal foot in people with diabetes mellitus (DM) may help to assess the influence of diabetes and neuropathy on microvascular dysfunction and risks of diabetic foot ...

Plantar Warts

Foot & Ankle, 1990
Plantar warts are an extremely common problem which can be very painful and debilitating. As is often the case with common problems, the knowledge of the disease and its treatments is inversely proportional to the frequency of the disease. Often the lay person knows as much and has as strong an opinion on treatment as the treating physician.
