ABSTRACT In unusual lesions of the Achilles Tendon, clinicians should be aware to perform an effective surgical technique aimed to restore anatomy and function. Medical history of the patients is crucial for understanding the type of traumatic mechanism. Unusual traumatic mechanisms may also present an unconventional injury pattern to repair.

Acute Medial Plantar Fascia Tear [PDF]
A 32-year-old man who participated in competitive soccer came to physical therapy via direct access for a chief complaint of plantar foot pain. The clinical examination findings and mechanism of injury raised a concern for a plantar fascia tear, so the patient was referred to the physician and magnetic resonance imaging was obtained.

Abstract Objective To macroscopically characterize and compare the open Metzenbaum (FOM) and ultrasound‐guided (FUG) plantar fasciotomy techniques for decompression of the hindlimb proximal suspensory ligament (PSL), and to determine whether either approach induces intraligamentous splitting (ILS). Study design Cadaveric experimental study.

A Case Report – K Wire as Guide in Endoscopic Plantar Fascia Release for Beginners
Introduction: This case report is to emphasize the role of K wire in localizing the plantar fascia and calcaneum spur during endoscopic plantar fascia release (EPER). Plantar fasciitis is a very common problem in society.

Model of circNrip1 (cNrip1) upregulation driving neuropathic pain mechanisms. After peripheral nerve injury, increased FUS triggers the formation and upregulation of cNrip1 in injured DRG neurons. Upregulated cNrip1 recruits SYNCRIP to the 3′‐UTR of Tlr2 mRNA by binding to both, thereby promoting SYNCRIP‐triggered Tlr2 mRNA stability and increasing ...

Current approaches to surgical treatment of plantar fasciitis (literature review) [PDF]
There is no general consensus among experts regarding terminology, pathogenesis and treatment of heel spurs. Surgical treatment of heel spur is considered for patients who have not responded adequately after 6-12 months of conservative therapy. Although

ABSTRACT Background Chronic neuropathic pain (CNP) involves complex interactions between resident and peripheral immune cells, as well as modulation of the endocannabinoid system. Cannabis‐based products have emerged as promising therapeutic options, but their effects on immune cells remain unclear.

Abstract Purpose Incomplete recovery with persistent muscle weakness is frequently observed following Achilles tendon rupture. The mechanisms for this weakness remain unclear, but tendon elongation has been suggested as a contributing factor. The aim of this study was to compare tendon and muscle morphology in high‐ and low‐functioning patients more ...

This study identified a maladaptive OFC–AIC glutamatergic circuit in stress‐induced hyperalgesia induction. This critical circuit provides an α2‐AR‐dependent braking target for dexmedetomidine to alleviate excessive glutamatergic transmission and hyperalgesia. ABSTRACT Dexmedetomidine (Dex), an α2‐adrenergic receptor (α2‐AR) agonist, is widely used for
