Flexible Pressure Sensor With Co‐Optimized Sensitivity and Linearity Based on Gradient Toroidal Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible piezoresistive pressure sensor with gradient toroidal CNT/PDMS microstructures is reported. The hierarchical geometry enables sequential electrode contact, achieving a sensitivity of 256.20 kPa−1 and linear response (R2 = 0.99) over 0–1000 kPa.

Comparison of Plantar Pressure Distribution, Ultrasonographic and Clinical Features Following the Application of Different Energy Levels of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy in Patients with Plantar Fasciitis: A Randomized, Prospective, Double-Blind Clinical Trial.

open access: yesJournal of the American Podiatric Medical Association (Print), 2022
BACKGROUND The effectiveness of different energy levels used in extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) have been investigated in previous studies, but controversy remains regarding which energy levels should be used in the treatment of plantar fasciitis.

Toward Perception‐Native Electronic Skin: Bio‐Inspired In‐/Near‐Sensor and Neuromorphic Computing for Humanoid Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...

Fibromatosis of the Plantar Fascia: Diagnosis and Indications For Surgical Treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Plantar fibromatosis is a rare, benign lesion involving the plantar aponeurosis. Eleven patients (13 feet) underwent 24 operations, including local excision, wide excision, or complete plantar fasciectomy. Clinical results were evaluated retrospectively.

Moisture‐Adaptive Triboelectric Materials and Platforms: Design Strategies, Performance Enhancement, and Applications in Energy Harvesting and Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review summarizes moisture‐adaptive strategies that enable triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) to operate across diverse moisture conditions. It examines moisture‐management methods, including exclusion, directional transport, removal, and utilization, with charge‐regulation approaches based on interfacial, dielectric, and structural engineering.

Evaluation of Floor Pressure Distribution in Female Athletes With Tibial Internal Pressure Syndrome

open access: yesBiyumikānīk-i varzishī, 2020
Objective: Internal tibial pressure syndrome is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders in athletes. Muscle imbalance in the dorsiflexor and plantar flexor muscles of the ankle in this syndrome may affect the distribution of plantar pressure in ...

Effect of stroke direction on plantar pressure in each foot during the forehand and backhand stroke among healthy adult tennis players of different performance levels

open access: yesBMC Sports Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation, 2023
Background In tennis, previous studies have shown differences in plantar pressure depending on tennis-specific movements (i.e., baseline play, serve & volley play, change of direction), playing surface (e.g., hard, grass, or clay), and serve type (e.g ...

Plantar Vein Thrombosis due to Busy Night Duty on Intensive Care Unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A 32-year-old woman with severe foot pain came to our emergency department after a busy night duty in hospital followed by an extended sleep period. Physical examination revealed a discrete swelling of the medial aspect of the right foot and a painful ...
