Studies on the Diapause in the Planthoppers

A reovirus in the brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens
A new virus, belonging to the reovirus group, was found in an apparently healthy colony of the brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens, and was referred to as the Nilaparvata lugens reovirus (NLRV). The virus was found in the cytoplasm of the insect cells, sometimes associated with tubular structures, which is one of the characteristic features in ...

ABSTRACT Striped stem borer (SSB; Chilo suppressalis Walker) is one of the most destructive pests in rice production. Previous studies have demonstrated that SSB infestation induces transcription of OsT5H (tryptamine‐5‐hydroxylase) and biosynthesis of serotonin, a newly recognised phytohormone, and that disruption of serotonin biosynthesis ...

Future planthopper management: increasing the resilience of rice systems
The problem of planthoppers in rice—the causes of planthopper outbreaks and the ways of reducing the likelihood of this happening—is determined by the dynamic interaction between features of the natural system and decisions made in the human use system ...

Deep CNN-Based Planthopper Classification Using a High-Density Image Dataset
Rice serves as the primary food source for nearly half of the global population, with Asia accounting for approximately 90% of rice production worldwide. However, rice farming faces significant losses due to pest attacks. To prevent pest infestations, it
