Planting Date, Hybrid Maturity, and Weather Effects on Maize Yield and Crop Stage

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, 2019
303 Planting date and hybrid maturity are two major strategies used worldwide for crop adaptation and mitigation to manage for unfavorable growing conditions. Planting date (PD) and hybrid relative maturity (RM) decisions set the yield potential of maize

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

A study of the synusia of small terrestrial mammals (Insectivora, Rodentia) of the Kelečská pahorkatina Upland – Czech Republic.

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2007
In 2006 to 2007, the community of small terrestrial mammals was studied in a natural forest area of the Kelečská pahorkatina Upland situated on the boundary-line of the Oderské and Hostýnské vrchy Hills (district of Přerov, Czech Republic).

Complementarity of Long‐Reads and Optical Mapping in Parkinson's Disease for Structural Variants

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Long‐read sequencing and optical genome mapping technologies have the ability to detect large and complex structural variants. This has led to the discovery of novel pathogenic variants in neurodegenerative movement disorders. Thus, we aimed to systematically compare the SV detection capabilities of OGM and ONT in Parkinson's disease.

Narrow-wide row planting pattern improves the light environment and seed yields of intercrop species in relay intercropping system

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Different planting patterns affect the light interception of intercrops under intercropping conditions. Here we revealed that narrow-wide-row relay-intercropping improves the light interception across maize leaves in wide rows (60cm) and narrow rows ...

Cultivar-specific nitrogen optimization coordinates yield-quality tradeoffs in water-saving drought-resistant rice under dry direct-seeded rainfed conditions

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Food Research
Water-saving and drought-resistant rice (WDR) under dry direct-seeded rainfed (DDSR) cultivation is a key technology to alleviate water scarcity and labor shortages, yet cultivar-specific nitrogen (N) management for coordinated yield-quality improvement ...

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.
