Plant Radio: Tuning in to plants by combining posthumanism and design
Designing Interactive Systems Conference, 2022The Plant Radio is an electronic device that makes it possible to perceive how (and that) a plant responds to its environment. The device works by artificially amplifying the EMG signals of a plant. Aesthetically, it builds on the metaphor of the radio broadcast receiver that allows for tuning in to intangible signals sent through the air.

The design of a dairy plant and its associated processes is often an open-ended problem with many possible solutions. Each design solution may have a unique impact on production capacity, process control, safety, environment and economics. In conducting an engineering design project, several requirements relating to the following aspects must be met: 1.

PLANT DESIGN ON MICROCOMPUTERS
Computer-Aided Design, 1986Plant design CAD systems demand sophisticated software because of complex interaction between a database and pictures generated from it. Creation of 3-D images, and the viewing of these shapes is discussed in this paper. A solid modelling approach, combined with a segmented viewfile concept, is described.

The Effect of Designated Pollutants on Plants
1978Abstract : The phototoxicity of hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas was studied with particular emphasis on various external plant stresses. Greenhouse grown plants and indoor exposure chambers were utilized to test the effect of viral infection, insecticide treatment, weed killer applications, or antioxidant protectants on injury caused by HCl gas.
