ABSTRACT We report on a 31‐year‐old male patient diagnosed with active moderate‐to‐severe ulcerative colitis and a history of splenectomy. He was hospitalized due to confluent pustular oral lesions and multiple skin abscesses. After ruling out an infection, we diagnosed pyostomatitis vegetans associated with aseptic abscess syndrome.

Carotid Artery Plaque Analysis in 3D Based on Distance Encoding in Mesh Representations [PDF]
Purpose: Enabling a comprehensive and robust assessment of carotid artery plaques in 3D through extraction and visualization of quantitative plaque parameters. These parameters have potential applications in stroke risk analysis, evaluation of therapy effectiveness, and plaque progression prediction.

A Two-Phase Model of Early Fibrous Cap Formation in Atherosclerosis [PDF]
Atherosclerotic plaque growth is characterised by chronic inflammation that promotes accumulation of cellular debris and extracellular fat in the inner artery wall. This material is highly thrombogenic, and plaque rupture can lead to the formation of blood clots that occlude major arteries and cause myocardial infarction or stroke. In advanced plaques,

Skin Diseases in Long‐Distance Runners
ABSTRACT Long‐distance running, including both road running and trail/mountain running, has significantly increased in popularity in recent years. The prolonged, repetitive physical activity combined with environmental exposures predisposes runners to a range of dermatological problems.

Segmentation of Soft atherosclerotic plaques using active contour models [PDF]
Detection of non-calcified plaques in the coronary tree is a challenging problem due to the nature of comprising substances. Hard plaques are easily discernible in CTA data cloud due to apparent bright behaviour, therefore many approaches have been proposed for automatic segmentation of calcified plaques.
