Efficiency and beam quality for positron acceleration in loaded plasma wakefields
Accelerating particles to high energies in plasma wakefields is considered to be a promising technique with good energy efficiency and high gradient. While important progress has been made in plasma-based electron acceleration, positron acceleration in ...

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Design, simulation and experiment of a cusp electron beam for millimeter wave gyro-devices
The design, simulation and experiment of a thermionic cusp electron gun that is to be used for millimeter wave generation will be presented. A cusp gun uses a non-adiabatic magnetic field reversal to obtain azimuthal motion on an electron beam resulting ...

A compact, lightweight, variable-energy cyclotron for conventional and FLASH ion beam radiotherapy
IntroductionThe advantage of ion beam radiotherapy for cancer lies in its low dose proximal and distal to the tumor, owed to an energy-dependent depth-dose profile, the Bragg-peak. However, conventional techniques to achieve different energies often rely

Emittance growth due to misalignment in multistage laser-plasma accelerators
Beam degradation is examined in a laser-plasma accelerator stage with a parabolic plasma channel when the laser pulse and/or the electron beam enters the channel off axis.

In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

The evolution of electron overdensities in magnetic fields [PDF]
When a neutral gas impinges on a stationary magnetized plasma an enhancement in the ionization rate occurs when the neutrals exceed a threshold velocity. This is commonly known as the critical ionization velocity effect.

Improvement of Biological Properties of Natural Hemostatic Agent by Plasma Technology
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of non-thermal plasma treatment on the biological properties of a natural hemostatic agent. The results show that plasma treatment can enhance the biodegradability property of the hemostatic agent by ...

TORBEAM 2.0, a paraxial beam tracing code for electron-cyclotron beams in fusion plasmas for extended physics applications [PDF]
The paraxial WKB code TORBEAM (Poli, 2001) is widely used for the description of electron-cyclotron waves in fusion plasmas, retaining diffraction effects through the solution of a set of ordinary differential equations. With respect to its original form, the code has undergone significant transformations and extensions, in terms of both the physical ...
