UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Runaway electrons during subnanosecond breakdowns in high-pressure gases

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2016
The parameters of runaway electrons produced in nanosecond high-voltage discharges in different gases (air, nitrogen, sulphur hexafluoride, krypton, argon, methane, neon, hydrogen, helium) at atmospheric and higher pressure were studied.

Computational Characterization of Microwave Planar Cutoff Probes for Non-Invasive Electron Density Measurement in Low-Temperature Plasma: Ring- and Bar-Type Cutoff Probes

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The microwave planar cutoff probe, recently proposed by Kim et al. is designed to measure the cutoff frequency in a transmission (S21) spectrum. For real-time electron density measurement in plasma processing, three different types have been demonstrated:

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.

Diffuse discharges in SF(6) and mixtures of SF(6) with H(2), formed by nanosecond voltage pulses in non-uniform electric field

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2018
Results of experimental study of nanosecond diffuse discharge in SF(6) and gas mixtures of SF(6) with H(2), D(2) and C(2)H(6) are presented. The aim of this work is to study parameters of discharge between two extended electrodes with a small radius of ...

Atomic Data Assessment with PyNeb

open access: yesAtoms, 2020
PyNeb is a Python package widely used to model emission lines in gaseous nebulae. We take advantage of its object-oriented architecture, class methods, and historical atomic database to structure a practical environment for atomic data assessment.

Clinical Spectrum and Outcomes of SOX1 Antibody‐Associated Paraneoplastic Neurological Syndromes: A Chinese Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background SOX1 antibody‐positive paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNS) exhibit significant population‐specific clinical heterogeneity. While Western cohorts predominantly manifest Lambert‐Eaton myasthenic syndrome (65%–80%), comprehensive clinical characterization and treatment response data in Asian populations remain critically ...

'Burning plasma' diagnostics for the physics of JET and ITER [PDF]

open access: yes
JET's recent experimental programme proved that 'burning plasma diagnostics', i.e. neutron, alpha particle, He ash, and fuel mixture measurements, can provide very useful information about crucial physical aspects of great reactor relevance. First of all,

CX3CL1 in Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease: Plasma Dynamics Across Age and Disease Stages

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid‐beta plaques, tau tangles, and neuroinflammation. C‐X3‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CX3CL1, also known as fractalkine), a neuroimmune chemokine implicated in AD pathogenesis, shows inconsistent alterations in plasma/serum across studies.

RevMexAA (Serie de Conferencias), 9, 316--318 (2000) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Thanks to the new generation of X-ray satellites such as Chandra and XMM, high resolution and high sensitivity spectra are available. In particular, for the first time, the three most intense lines (resonance, intercombination and forbidden) of low ...
