Suppressing Surface Degradation in Na‐Rich Prussian Blue Cathodes via Liquid‐Phase Dehydration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Gas bubbling in a liquid medium lowers the local water vapor pressure and continuously removes desorbed water, enabling effective dehydration of Prussian Blue without inducing surface oxidation. This interfacial mass transfer‐driven process stabilizes the surface chemistry and improves electrochemical performance, providing a strategy for handling ...

Orbital‐Hybridizable Nanoseed Interphase Enables One‐Minute Rechargeable, Energy‐Dense Anode‐Free Aqueous Zinc Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An orbital‐hybridizable nanoseed (OHNS) interphase induces strong orbital hybridization between Zn and carbon edges, accelerating Zn nucleation while suppressing 2D surface diffusion. This interfacial electronic regulation drives uniform, dense, and (002)‐oriented Zn growth, enabling stable and fast charging behavior in anode‐free aqueous Zn batteries.

Effect of Electrolyte Temperature on Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation of Pure Aluminum

open access: yesMetals
Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) is normally carried out under conditions with electrolyte cooling. However, the effect of the temperature of the electrolytes on the PEO behavior and properties of the resulting coatings is seldom investigated. In this study, PEO of pure Al was carried out in a dilute aluminate electrolyte with the electrolyte ...

The effect of current mode and discharge type on the corrosion resistance of plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coated magnesium alloy AJ62

open access: yes, 2011
Magnesium alloys are increasingly being used as lightweight materials in the automotive, defense, electronics, biomaterial and aerospace industries. However, their inherently poor corrosion and wear resistance have, so far, limited their application ...

Ultrathin Li Metal Anodes: Quantitative Design Principles and Manufacturability Across Liquid and Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin lithium metal anodes (≤15 µm) offer a promising route to high‐energy‐density batteries due to their high capacity and low potential. This review presents design principles for ultrathin Li, evaluates fabrication strategies, and discusses challenges in liquid and solid‐state cells.

Engineering CO2 Reduction Pathways via Alloy‐Support Interactions in Li‐CO2 Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Alloy‐support interactions in RuCu/NC induce interfacial charge redistribution and shift d‐band centers, steering CO2 reduction from Li2CO3 to metastable Li2C2O4. This pathway engineering lowers the rate‐determining barrier and suppresses carbonate formation, enabling high discharge voltage (3.23 V) in Li‐CO2 batteries with reduced overpotential (0.50 ...
