A Metal‐Free Carbon Monoxide Prodrug Suppresses Metastasis of Pancreatic and Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 29, 22 May 2026.
A metal‐free carbon monoxide (CO) prodrug, CO‐116, delivers controlled systemic CO without inhalation. CO suppresses the HRG1–heme axis, reducing intracellular heme availability. Attenuation of this pathway inhibits metastatic progression in pancreatic and triple‐negative breast cancer models.

Addressing Bottlenecks to Achieve High‐Energy Sodium‐Ion Cells Using Tin Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 17, 6 May 2026.
The challenges in coupling high voltage cathode with Sn‐alloying anode or in anode‐free cell, using glyme based electrolytes to realize high energy Na‐ion cells are reported. Surface protection strategy such as SnO coating on Sn or trapping the parasitic species from poisoning the anode, helps improving the cyclability, with ∼100% capacity retention ...

Recent Progress of Transition Metal Phosphides for Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 3, May 2026.
Transition metal phosphides (TMPs) are competitive substitutes for platinum‐based catalysts due to cost‐effectiveness, abundant reserves, tunable properties, and comparable performance. This review outlines the synthesis and control strategies of TMPs, providing critical insights to overcome the challenges of TMP‐based electrocatalysts in alkaline ...

Ultra‐Fast and Economical Pre‐Breakdown Electrochemical Synthesis of Intrinsically Conductive Polymer Suspension for Production of Safe Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 3, May 2026.
This paper presents a breakthrough pre‐breakdown electrochemical method for synthesizing polyNiMeOSalen suspensions, achieving an 83% yield and nanoscale dispersion ($1500/kg) and environmental impact (1.42 kg CO2eq/kg). We report a novel pre‐breakdown electrochemical synthesis method for producing polyNiMeOSalen suspensions with exceptional ...

Teadenol A, a Key Cleavage Product of EGCG in Dark Tea, Alleviates Depressive‐Like Behavior by Modulating the Microbiota–Gut–Brain Axis in CUMS‐Induced Rats

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
Teadenol A alleviates CUMS‐induced depressive behaviors by attenuating hippocampal neuronal damage, restoring metabolic homeostasis, and reshaping gut microbiota composition via the microbiota–gut–brain axis. ABSTRACT Depression is a chronic mental disorder that impacts human health.
