Quantifying Strain and Its Effect on Charge Transport in Ge/Si Core/Shell Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates strain engineering in Ge/Si core–shell nanowires (CS NWs) by tuning the Ge core‐Si shell dimensions. Polarization‐resolved µ‐Raman and geometrical phase analysis quantify the resulting strain. Electronic transport measurements demonstrate record hole mobilities up to 25 400 cm2/Vs, highlighting these Ge/Si CS NWs as a promising ...

Investigations on nucleophilic layers made with a novel plasma jet technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this work a novel plasma jet technique is used for the deposition of nucleophilic films based on (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane at atmospheric pressure. Film deposition was varied with regard to duty cycles and working distance. Spectral ellipsometry

Particle Orbits in a Force-Balanced, Wave-Driven, Rotating Torus

open access: yes, 2017
The wave-driven rotating torus (WDRT) is a recently proposed fusion concept where the rotational transform is provided by the E x B drift resulting from a minor radial electric field.
