Plasma-sprayed zirconia electrolytes

Solid State Ionics, 1988
Yttria stabilized zirconia is widely used as an electrolyte in electrochemical devices such as high temperature solid oxide fuel cells (HTSOFC) (1) and oxygen sensors (2). In order to reduce the ohmic resistance it is interesting to obtain electrolyte layers as thin as possible.

Plasma spray forming

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2002
Abstract The technology of plasma spray forming (PSF) is introduced, and the technical processes of plasma spray for fabricating parts and moulds are investigated emphatically in this paper. The technological characteristics of PSF are summarized, including original prototype fabrication and surface treatment, post-treatment of a formed workpiece and

D.C. Plasma Spraying

2013
In plasma spraying, an electric arc generates plasma within a plasma torch. The arc is struck between a cathode (usually a rod or button-type design) and a cylindrical anode nozzle, and the plasma gas is injected at the base of the cathode, heated by the arc, and exits the nozzle as a high temperature, high velocity jet (see Fig. 7.1).

Plasma Sprayed Ce:YAG

International Thermal Spray Conference, 2014
Abstract In this study, gas- and water-stabilized plasma torches were used to spray cesium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Ce:YAG) on different substrate materials and in large-area free-standing layers. The coatings were evaluated based on microstructure, crystallinity, and thermal stability, and tests were performed to measure porosity,

Vacuum-plasma-sprayed metallic coatings

Thin Solid Films, 1981
Recognizing the fundamental cost advantage, technical capabilities, and compositional flexibility of reduced pressure (vacuum) plasma spraying compared to other overlay coating methods, an advanced, second generation, closed chamber deposition process called VPX (a Howmet trademark) was developed.

TiC plasma spray cermets

Perspektivnye Materialy, 2020
The microstructure and microhardness of eleven volumetric cermets based on TiC carbide with nickel and cobalt based matrices after liquid-phase sintering at a temperature of 1400 °C were studied. It is supposed to use the research results for the subsequent formation of a powder for plasma spraying of coatings.

Single‐donor spray‐dried plasma

Transfusion, 2018
BACKGROUNDDried plasma is logistically superior for hemostasis management because it can be transported and stored under nonfrozen conditions and quickly reconstituted at the point of care, enabling prehospital administration. Velico Medical has developed a spray‐drying system to be integrated into routine blood center work streams for spray drying ...
