Experimental study on airfoil flow separation control via an air-supplement plasma synthetic jet
An air-supplement plasma synthetic jet (PSJ) actuator increases the air supplemental volume in the recovery stage and improves the jet energy by attaching a check valve to the chamber of a conventional actuator.

Numerical investigation of flow field inner cavity of high-temperature Plasma Synthetic Jet actuator
A Plasma Synthetic Jet (PSJ) actuator is the promised equipment to produce a high-speed synthetic jet, which can be potentially applied to control the supersonic flow. Several researchers paid much attention to its application on Active Flow Control (AFC)

Circular Polarization in Turbulent Blazar Jets
Circular polarization (CP) provides an invaluable probe into the underlying plasma content of relativistic jets. CP can be generated within the jet through a physical process known as linear birefringence.

An Unsupervised Spectrogram Cross-Correlation Method to Assess ELM Triggering Efficiency by Pellets
The high confinement mode (H-mode) is considered the optimal regime for the production of energy through nuclear fusion for industrial purposes since it allows to increase the energy confinement time of the plasma roughly by a factor of two. Consequently,

Physics and models for plasma synthetic jets
Plasma synthetic jet (PSJ) actuators are mainly used in order to control high speed flows. The objective of this work is to get a better understanding of the arc created inside the actuator and of its interaction with the surrounding fresh gas which allows to transfer the required thermal energy to produce the jets.

Experimental investigation on frequency characteristics of plasma synthetic jets
The performance of a two-electrode plasma synthetic jet actuator (PSJA) is investigated for a wide range of dimensionless actuation frequencies ( f*) using high-speed phase-locked particle imaging velocimetry measurements. The jet-induced velocity fields in the axisymmetric plane are measured during both transient and steady working stages of the PSJA.

On the use of Plasma Synthetic Jets for the control of jet flow and noise [PDF]
The noise generated by an isothermal single stream jet at Mach number Mj = 0.9 and diameter-based Reynolds number ReD = 1e6 is investigated numerically for an unforced confi guration and a forced confi guration with an active control device. This active flow forcing is performed with 12 Plasma Synthetic Jets (PSJs) located at the nozzle lip and acting ...

A Calibrated Lumped Element Model for the Prediction of PSJ Actuator Efficiency Performance
Among the various active flow control techniques, Plasma Synthetic Jet (PSJ) actuators, or Sparkjets, represent a very promising technology, especially because of their high velocities and short response times.

Through the Looking Glass: Faraday Conversion in Turbulent Blazar Jets
Faint levels of circular polarization (Stokes V) have been detected in several relativistic jets. While typically less than a few percent, circular polarization can give us critical insight into the underlying nature of the jet plasma.

Synthetic NPA diagnostic for energetic particles in JET plasmas [PDF]
Neutral particle analysis (NPA) is one of the few methods for diagnosing fast ions inside a plasma by measuring neutral atom fluxes emitted due to charge exchange reactions. The JET tokamak features an NPA diagnostic which measures neutral atom fluxes and energy spectra simultaneously for hydrogen, deuterium and tritium species.
