Non-equilibrium modelling of arc plasma torches [PDF]
A two-temperature thermal non-equilibrium model is developed and applied to the three-dimensional and time-dependent simulation of the flow inside a DC arc plasma torch. A detailed comparison of the results of the non-equilibrium model with those of an equilibrium model is presented.

Hydrogen production via plasma methane pyrolysis is investigated using a microwave plasma torch (MPT) and a gliding arc plasmatron (GAP). The performance of the two plasma sources in terms of methane conversion, product spectrum, and energy efficiency is compared. The physical and chemical properties of the produced carbon particles are compared.
