Reactive Atom Plasma (RAP) figuring machine for meter class optical surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A new surface figuring machine called Helios 1200 is presented in this paper. It is designed for the figuring of meter sized optical surfaces with form accuracy correction capability better than 20 nm rms within a reduced number of iterations.

Non-equilibrium modelling of arc plasma torches [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2007
A two-temperature thermal non-equilibrium model is developed and applied to the three-dimensional and time-dependent simulation of the flow inside a DC arc plasma torch. A detailed comparison of the results of the non-equilibrium model with those of an equilibrium model is presented.

Overcoming Polyatomic Interferences in Sulfur Isotope Measurement Using MC‐ICP‐MS

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, EarlyView.
Key Points Optimising plasma conditions via the normalised argon index (NAI) reduces polyatomic interferences, allowing accurate sulfur isotope measurement in low‐resolution mode on MC‐ICP‐MS. Low‐resolution mode enhances sensitivity by approximately threefold compared with conventional high‐resolution analysis.

Characterization of Lithia‐Based Machinable Glass‐Ceramic Materials

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Lithia‐based glass ceramics lead the indirect single‐unit restoration market, but the underlying evidence is dominated by a single material. New materials have been introduced. The purpose was to investigate the elemental composition, elemental oxide composition, as‐fabricated surface morphology, as‐fabricated flexural strength ...

Public Health Implications of Latent Toxoplasmosis and Its Association With Type 2 Diabetes: A Case–Control Study in Qazvin, North‐Western Iran

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Toxoplasma gondii is a worldwide‐distributed zoonotic parasite, causing latent infections in humans. Increasing evidence has suggested a possible link between toxoplasmosis and diabetes mellitus (DM), though data from Iran are limited. This study was conducted to determine the seroprevalence of latent T.

Plasma Arc Torch Technology

open access: yes, 2007
For many years, in-situ thermal vitrification has been recognized as one method to remediate contaminated soils and help stabilize land fills. However, the complexity of the process and the uncertainty of the results have limited the use of this remediation technique.A plasma is a gas that has been ionized by the electric arc of a plasma torch and can ...

Results of the experimental research of the heat-transfer jet pressure to the rock surface during thermal reaming of the borehole [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The performed analysis of scientific sources confirms the existence of a small number of publications devoted to the experimental research of the gasdynamics and plasmodynamics of jets used as a heat- transfer medium in the thermal ...
