A Novel Self‐Regulated, Non‐Directional Magnetic Thermos‐Brachytherapy 125I Seed Enhances Anticancer Efficacy by Rescuing Immune Escape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 43, November 20, 2025.
This work constructs magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) and incorporates them with silver rods coated with 125I to form a novel composite seed, which exhibits direction‐independent and self‐regulated heating efficiency, as well as the capacity of preventing MNPs leakage and enabling repeated hyperthermia.

Improvement of wear resistance of aluminum alloy by plasma transferred arc welding process.

open access: yesJournal of Japan Institute of Light Metals, 1999
The purpose of this study is to improve the hardness and wear resistance characteristics of the aluminum alloy using Plasma Transferred Arc process, called PTA process. The PTA process has been mainly applied to surface modification to steel products. It has some difficulties to apply this PTA process into aluminum products due to its low melting point

The connection analysis between the dilution of the deposited Fe-Cr-V-Mo-C layer by the basic metal and the parameters of its microstructure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In this work, the structure of the Fe-Cr-V-Mo-C coatings received by plasma transferred arc cladding was investigated. Coatings were deposited on plates with a thickness of 10 mm and made from constructional steel (steel 20).

The Reduction of Group 6–8 Transition Metal Oxides with Hydrogen—From Ore Smelting to Reaction Pathways#

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 30, October 22, 2025.
As the reduction of transition metal oxides by coal poses a significant climate risk, the use of alternative reducing agents such as hydrogen is becoming increasingly important. This review summarizes the current knowledge of the reduction pathways of transition metal oxides from groups 6 to 8.

Heat sink effects in variable polarity plasma arc welding [PDF]

open access: yes
The Space Shuttle External Tank is fabricated by the variable polarity plasma arc (VPPA) welding process. In VPPA welding, a noble gas, usually argon, is directed through an arc to emerge from the torch as a hot plasma jet.

Visualisation of alternating shielding gas flow in GTAW [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The alternating shielding gas technique is a method of achieving transient arc characteristics during arc welding; however the complex flow that occurs through its use has not been investigated previously.
