Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

In the article we consider the plasma-chemical method for cleaning water of radionuclides and organic compounds after hydroseparation. We analyze the main fields of use of electric-discharge technology for cleaning and decontamination of water. We define the main factors of plasma originating from electric discharge in bubble medium, and analyze their ...

Plasma in textile wastewater treatment
[Excerpt] Water is an essential resource for all life forms on this planet. It is also a critical source of anthropogenic social and economic development [1]. Nevertheless, freshwater scarcity is a real issue that is felt worldwide. It is estimated that by the year 2050 around 6 billion people will suffer from potable water scarcity [2].

Measurement of macroscopic plasma parameters with a radio experiment: Interpretation of the quasi-thermal noise spectrum observed in the solar wind [PDF]
The ISEE-3 SBH radio receiver has provided the first systematic observations of the quasi-thermal (plasma waves) noise in the solar wind plasma. The theoretical interpretation of that noise involves the particle distribution function so that electric ...

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Wearable Plasma Pads for Biomedical Applications
A plasma pad that can be attached to human skin was developed for aesthetic and dermatological treatment. A polyimide film was used for the dielectric layer of the flexible pad, and high-voltage and ground electrodes were placed on the film surface ...
