Solvent Welding-Based Methods Gently and Effectively Enhance the Conductivity of a Silver Nanowire Network

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
To enhance the conductivity of a silver nanowire (Ag NW) network, a facile solvent welding method was developed. Soaking a Ag NW network in ethylene glycol (EG) or alcohol for less than 15 min decreased the resistance about 70%.

Effect of glow discharge treatment of poly(acrylic acid) preadsorbed onto poly(ethylene) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
In order to introduce carboxylic acid groups at the surface of poly(ethylene) (PE) films, an attempt was made to covalently link a preadsorbed layer of poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) on a PE film by an argon or tetrafluoromethane (CF4) plasma treatment ...

Advances in the superhydrophilicity-modified titanium surfaces with antibacterial and pro-osteogenesis properties: A review

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2022
In recent years, the rate of implant failure has been increasing. Microbial infection was the primary cause, and the main stages included bacterial adhesion, biofilm formation, and severe inhibition of implant osseointegration.

Relationship between Sustained Reductions in Plasma Lipid and Lipoprotein Concentrations with Apheresis and Plasma Levels and mRNA Expression of PTX3 and Plasma Levels of hsCRP in Patients with HyperLp(a)lipoproteinemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The effect of lipoprotein apheresis (Direct Adsorption of Lipids, DALI) (LA) on plasma levels of pentraxin 3 (PTX3), an inflammatory marker that reflects coronary plaque vulnerability, and expression of PTX3 mRNA was evaluated in patients with hyperLp(a ...

Exploration of in Vivo Efficacy of Artemether-Lumefantrine Against Uncomplicated Plasmodium Falciparum Malaria in Under Fives in Tabora Region, Tanzania. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Tanzania adopted artemether-lumefantrine (AL) as first-line drug for uncomplicated malaria in 2006. Recently, there was an anecdotal report on high malaria recurrence rate following AL treatment in in the (urban and peri-urban), western part of Tanzania.

Field Performance Test of an Air-Cleaner with Photocatalysis-Plasma Synergistic Reactors for Practical and Long-Term Use

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
A practical and long-term usable air-cleaner based on the synergy of photocatalysis and plasma treatments has been developed. A field test of the air-cleaner was carried out in an office smoking room.

Estimating plasma volume in neonatal Holstein calves fed one or two feedings of a lacteal-based colostrum replacer using Evans blue dye and hematocrit values at various time points. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Twenty-eight Holstein calves were blocked by birth date and randomly assigned to one of two treatments to investigate the effect of colostrum replacer (CR) feeding regimen on plasma volume (PV).
