Plasmonic Oligomers With Tunable Conductive Nanojunctions

open access: yes, 2019
Plasmonic particles can be welded together, but controlling the metallurgy of the hotspots is a challenge in colloidal chemistry. In this paper, we demonstrate an original method that connects gold particles to their neighbors by another metal of choice.

Neodymium‐Doped Nanocrystals for Sensing Cellular Temperature at the Nanoscale

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Neodymium‐doped NaYF4 nanocrystals are engineered as bright, biocompatible nanothermometers for intracellular temperature mapping. Their ratiometric near‐infrared emission enables highly sensitive, nanoscale thermal readouts in living cells. Combined with gold nanostars for photothermal therapy, they reveal pronounced subcellular heating heterogeneity ...

Extreme Plasmons

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies
Abstract Nanometric confinement of electromagnetic energy has become possible using plasmons that are quasiparticles constituted by collective oscillations of conduction band electron gas. Here, nonperturbative plasmons are modeled having large‐amplitude oscillations that approach the extreme limit set by breakdown in characteristic ...

Micromachined Double‐Membrane Mechanically Tunable Metamaterial for Thermal Infrared Filtering

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Herein, a mechanically tunable double‐layer plasmonic metamaterial leveraging the extraordinary optical transmission effect observed in subwavelength arrays of openings within thin metal layers is presented. The concept is experimentally validated by integrating the proposed metamaterial structure into an electrostatic parallel‐plate actuator to create

Broadband Plasmonic Couplers for Light Trapping and Waveguiding

open access: yes
We have experimentally and theoretically demonstrated plasmonic couplers based on metal nanoparticles film (metal islands) deposited upon the optical dielectric waveguide.

Detection of Estrogenic Hormones Using Plasmonic Nanostructures

open access: yes, 2020
By optimising the geometry of asymmetric split-H (ASH) resonators fabricated on zinc selenide, we have produced a total of four distinct plasmonic resonances that could be matched with six molecular vibration wavelengths (for O-H, C-H, C=O,

Cyclodextrin‐Functionalized Light‐Driven Cu2O Micromotors for Simultaneous Capture and Degradation of Bisphenol A

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Fuel‐free Cu2O‐based micromotors functionalized with β‐cyclodextrin actively remove bisphenol A from water under visible light. The cyclodextrin shell captures BPA and enhances micromotor motility, leading to faster degradation and higher overall removal than nonfunctionalized Cu2O and Cu2O@Au.

Photonic Time Crystals and Time‐Varying Electromagnetic Metamatter: A New Direction for Ultrafast Tunable Photonic and Microwave Materials and Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...
