Synthesis and characterization of dye-doped polymeric thin films to be used as gain medium in plasmonic nanolasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
openIn recent years there has been a burst of scientific research towards the development of novel tunable laser sources in the visible or near-infrared range, integrated at the nanoscale, able to overcome the need for a macroscopic resonant cavity like ...

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

Enhancement of Long-Range Surface Plasmon Excitation, Dynamic Range and Figure of Merit Using a Dielectric Resonant Cavity

open access: yesSensors, 2018
In this paper, we report a theoretical framework on the effect of multiple resonances inside the dielectric cavity of insulator-insulator-metal-insulator (IIMI)-based surface plasmon sensors.

Dispersion braiding and band knots in plasmonic arrays with broken symmetries

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2023
Periodic arrays can support highly nontrivial modal dispersion, stemming from the interplay between localized resonances of the array elements and distributed resonances supported by the lattice.

Plasmonic atoms and plasmonic molecules [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics A, 2007
The proposed paradigm of plasmonic atoms and plasmonic molecules allows one to describe and predict the strongly localized plasmonic oscillations in the clusters of nanoparticles and some other nanostructures in uniform way. Strongly localized plasmonic molecules near the contacting surfaces might become the fundamental elements (by analogy with Lego ...

Electromagnetic Study of Behaviour of Plasmonic Units [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
SUMMARY: For any memory or computing device, fast switching speed and low switching energy are most attractive attributes, and approaches by which speed and energy efficiency can be improved are always desirable. Plasmonics offers a way to achieve those

Bioorthogonal Photoactivation of 2‐Nitrobenzyl Caged Doxorubicin Anticancer Prodrugs on Gold Nanostars

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.

Plasmonic biosensors [PDF]

open access: yesWIREs Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology, 2014
The unique optical properties of plasmon resonant nanostructures enable exploration of nanoscale environments using relatively simple optical characterization techniques. For this reason, the field of plasmonics continues to garner the attention of the biosensing community.
