Composition and Resulting Band Alignment at the TiO2/InP Heterointerface: A Fundamental Study Combining Photoemission Spectroscopy and Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemical composition and band alignment are systematically investigated at the TiO2/InP heterointerface. Thin TiO2 films are deposited by ALD on atomically ordered, P‐terminated p‐InP(100). By combining UPS, XPS, and ab initio molecular dynamics, the atomistic structure and electronic alignment are revealed.

Enhanced graphene nonlinear response through geometrical plasmon focusing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a simple approach to couple light into graphene plasmons and focus these excitations at focal spots of a size determined by the plasmon wavelength, thus producing high optical field enhancement that boosts the nonlinear response of the ...

Plasmonic Nickel Nanoantennas [PDF]

open access: yesSmall, 2011
AbstractThe fundamental optical properties of pure nickel nanostructures are studied by far‐field extinction spectroscopy and optical near‐field microscopy, providing direct experimental evidence of the existence of particle plasmon resonances predicted by theory.

Integrated Plasmonics: Broadband Dirac Plasmons in Borophene [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2020
The past decade has witnessed numerous discoveries of two-dimensional (2D) semimetals and insulators, whereas 2D metals are rarely identified. Borophene, a monolayer boron sheet, has recently emerged as a perfect 2D metal with unique structure and electronic properties.

Surface Plasmons in Carbon Nanotubes with Elliptical Cross Section [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2017
The paper describes surface plasmons in metallic carbon nanotubes based on the complete system of Maxwell's equations. Dispersion relation for plasmons in nanotubes with an elliptic cross section has been obtained with the use of the boundary ...

Surface Plasmons Excited by X-rays in the Surface Layers of Solids

open access: yesSolids, 2022
The phenomenon of total external reflection of X-rays at a sliding angle of incidence of a beam of incident X-rays is investigated. For metals, a quantitative law of direct dependence of the refractive index decrement on the interplane distance is ...
