The life cicle of Plasmopara viticola [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Plasmopara viticola (Berk. & M. A. Curtis) Bed. & De Toni is an obligate biotrophic oomycetous organism which causes downy mildew of grape vine. An understanding of its life-cycle is essential in relation to the pathology and epidemiology, and for the development of better control of the disease. It overwinters as oospores within fallen leaves.

Protease inhibitors decrease the resistance of Vitaceae to Plasmopara viticola [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology and Biochemistry, 2012
Plasmopara viticola must successfully infect susceptible grapevine cultivars to complete its biological cycle. In resistant grapevine varieties, P. viticola is blocked by the activation of defense mechanisms; these defense mechanisms produce hypersensitive reactions, which are related to programmed cell death.

Management of Plasmopara viticola : From the Tradition to the Innovation [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Health Cases
Abstract This case explores grapevine downy mildew caused by Plasmopara viticola by examining its life cycle and impact on viticulture. It also briefly discusses the challenges and importance of breeding resistant grapevine varieties.

STUDI EPIDEMIOLOGICI SU PLASMOPARA VITICOLA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
