STUDI EPIDEMIOLOGICI SU PLASMOPARA VITICOLA

The life cicle of Plasmopara viticola
2000Plasmopara viticola (Berk. & M. A. Curtis) Bed. & De Toni is an obligate biotrophic oomycetous organism which causes downy mildew of grape vine. An understanding of its life-cycle is essential in relation to the pathology and epidemiology, and for the development of better control of the disease. It overwinters as oospores within fallen leaves.

Splash dispersal of Plasmopara viticola primary inoculum
2008Primary infections of Plasmopara viticola are caused by zoospores originating from oospores that overwinter in leaf litter or in soil. The inoculum is carried from the ground to the grape leaves by splashing rain, but little information exists about the relationships between rainfall, travelling distance and distribution of the inoculum within ...

Long-term survival of Plasmopara viticola oospores
2011A research was carried out in order to verify the long-term viability of Plasmopara viticola oospores. It is commonly assumed that oospores may survive across grapevines growing seasons, but no experimental evidence of this assumption has been provided to date. Grapevine leaves were collected from untreated plants in Emilia-Romagna in fall 2004 to 2008.
