Design and Testing of a Structural Monitoring System in an Almería-Type Tensioned Structure Greenhouse [PDF]
Greenhouse cultivation has gained a special importance in recent years and become the basis of the economy in south-eastern Spain. The structures used are light and, due to weather events, often collapse completely or partially, which has generated ...

Environmental control of greenhouse and plastic cover. II
1. Climatic factors were measured in large gutter-connected greenhouses which are equipped with the cooling system as pad-and fan in Kusatsu City of Shiga Prefecture.2. The greenhouses measured were so different from one another in their structures, aeration systems and crops, that the temperature and wind velocity were studied for three to four ...

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Rheocasting versus Die Casting: An Insight into the Low‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AlSi7Mg0.6
The study compares rheocast lightweight components with high‐pressure die cast materials regarding microstructure and fatigue behavior. Rheocast process offers higher efficiency due to lower casting temperatures. Despite some microstructural differences, both processes show similar strengths (yield strength 125 MPa, tensile strength 240 MPa).

Greenhouse gas emissions and natural capital implications of plastics (including biobased plastics)
The ETC/WMGE report, focusing on the greenhouse gas emissions released throughout the lifecycle of plastics (including biobased plastics), from extraction over production and conversion until end-of-life. In view of the rising plastics consumption and production trends, a systematic and integrated perspective on plastics and its carbon cycle is ...
