Automatic Vision Inspection Solution for the Manufacturing Process of Automotive Components Through Plastic Injection Molding

International Conference on Computational Photography, 2020
In the automotive industry, vehicle components can be obtained through the process of plastic injection molding. The components can be fixed in the vehicle by using metal bushings, which are placed on the injection mold before the beginning of the ...

The injection of plasticity by millinewton contacts

Acta Metallurgica et Materialia, 1995
Abstract Diamond indentation of a surface with a thin passive film require s loads an order of magnitude smaller for Ni〈100〉 crystals than for Fe-3 wt% Si〈100〉 crystals. The load bearing capacity of the Fe-3 wt% Si can be reduced by two orders of magnitude by removing the 1- nm thick native oxide film.

Microplastic injection? Identification and quantification of plastic particles in medical injections

Science of The Total Environment
Microplastics (MPs) mainly enter the human body through ingestion and breathing. Most of them are excreted through feces, and only a small amount can accumulate in human organs and tissues. In contrast, if intravenous injection contains MPs, it could directly enter bloodstream and maybe pose severe health risk.

The plasticating process in injection molding

Polymer Engineering & Science, 1974
AbstractA mathematical representation of the plasticating process in a reciprocating‐screw injection‐molding machine has been formulated as a design tool for simulating the effect of processing parameters on the melting performance, the melt temperature, and the pressure profile.

Modeling of Plasticating Injection Molding – Experimental Assessment

International Polymer Processing, 2014
Abstract A computational model for the description of polymer flow during the plasticating phase of the injection molding process is proposed. The polymer behavior is determined during the dynamic and static phases of the process. The model takes into account the backwards movement of the screw, the presence of a non-return valve and ...

Mechanism-based wear models for plastic injection moulds

, 2019
Injection moulding is a single-step manufacturing process for plastic parts that require very precise dimensions, geometries and low part roughness (Ra 0.2–0.025 μm). The high cost of moulds (typ.
