ANALYSIS OF FACTORS INFLUENCING THE CIRCULARITY OF PLASTIC PACKAGING WASTE RECYCLING: A CASE STUDY IN THE BALTIC STATES

open access: yesЕкологія, людина, суспільство
In 2020, 29.5 million tonnes of post-consumer plastics waste were collected in the EU. Around 40% of all plastic waste consists of packaging waste, and therefore it is one of the most important components of plastic waste. According to the Eurostat data,

Study on waste from hospital and clinics in Phitsanulok [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Waste generation depends on numerous factors such as established waste management methods, type of hospital establishment, hospital specialization, proportion of reusable items employed in hospital, and proportion of patients treated on a day-care basis.

Plastic waste as a global challenge: are biodegradable plastics the answer to the plastic waste problem?

open access: yesMicrobiology, 2019
The strength, flexibility and light weight of traditional oil-derived plastics make them ideal materials for a large number of applications, including packaging, medical devices, building, transportation, etc. However, the majority of produced plastics are single-use plastics, which, coupled with a throw-away culture, leads to the accumulation of ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
