Study on Treatment of Loess Landslide Based on Nanosilica and Fly Ash Composite Stabilizer Filling Fissures

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
Frequent occurrence of landslides has seriously threatened the infrastructural projects in the Loess Plateau, China. At the beginning, with development of the landslide, several fissures were generated along the internal weak surface.

On the extremals of the P\'olya-Szeg\H{o} inequality

open access: yes, 2014
The distance of an extremal of the P\'olya-Szeg\H{o} inequality from a translate of its symmetric decreasing rearrangement is controlled by the measure of the set of critical points.Comment: 17 pages, 3 ...

Peptomer Linkers Enable Kinetic Control over Co‐Delivery of Multiple Chemotherapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A key challenge in combinatorial chemotherapeutic drug delivery is independent control over release kinetics, especially with drugs of similar size and structure. Here, peptoid substitutions to proteolytically degradable peptides enabled the design of fast and slow‐releasing drug linkers.

Shapeshifting Liquid Metal Droplets for Soft Fluidic Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presented a liquid metal shape shifting strategy which harnesses Lorentz force, surface tension and fluid instabilities to achieve autonomous fluidic power. By using a liquid metal droplet as a mobile current carrier, this strategy enables the development of low‐voltage, self‐oscillating pumps that outperform existing soft pumps.

Probing Cellular Activity Via Charge‐Sensitive Quantum Nanoprobes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new quantum sensing modality detects shifts in zero‐field splitting caused by charge rearrangement with diamond nanocrystals in response to cellular activity. These electric‐field‐driven effects provide an alternative to temperature‐based interpretations, enabling real‐time, single‐cell readout of inflammation.

Dynamics and Topological Aspects of a Reconstructed Two-Dimensional Foam Time Series Using Potts Model on a Pinned Lattice

open access: yes, 2003
We discuss a method to reconstruct an approximate two-dimensional foam structure from an incomplete image using the extended Potts mode with a pinned lattice we introduced in a previous paper.
