Modulation of interferon-[alpha] secretion by activated platelets in systemic lupus erythematosus. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Type I interferons play a key role in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) pathogenesis as an "IFN signature" is found in the majority of patients with active SLE.

Microfluidic Modeling of Macrophage‐Induced Cardiac Inflammation Using NF‐κB Reporter Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A cardiac inflammation model was developed to enable real‐time analysis of macrophage‐cardiomyocyte interactions using NF‐κB‐reporter cardiomyocytes and a microfluidic co‐culture system. A MATLAB‐based model was implemented to optimize cell density and medium resupply based on TNFα diffusion kinetics. Activation thresholds and stress responses in NF‐κB‐

Evaluation of platelet activation parameters as quality markers for the stored platelets [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Medical Biochemistry, 2007
In order to investigate the potential use of platelets activation parameters as routine quality control indicators during liquid storage, 27 PC-BC units were kept at 22 oC for up to 5 days.

Patient‐Derived 3D Bioprinted Cardiac Organoid Constructs Reveal Key Pathological Features of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived cardiac organoids reveal key features of Duchenne muscular dystrophy cardiomyopathy, including apoptosis, oxidative stress, calcium handling defects, and mechanical remodeling. By integrating organoids into alginate–gelatin bioprinted constructs, disease phenotypes are organized into scalable 3D cardiac tissues displaying extracellular ...

Simvastatin Restores Uteroplacental Hemodynamics and Trophoblast Function in Obstetric Antiphospholipid Syndrome in a Placenta‐on‐a‐Chip Model

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Simvastatin mitigates placental hypoperfusion in OAPS by ameliorating abnormal uteromaternal hemodynamics and enhancing trophoblast invasion via optimized endothelial cell interactions under pathological shear stress, as evidenced by results from a placenta‐on‐a‐chip platform.

Hybrid Nanofibers for Multimodal Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Fabrication of wound healing scaffolds based on biocompatible nanofibers. Nanofibers offering high surface area, flexibility, and biocompatibility significantly improved the healing outcome in vivo. Histological, immunological, and anti‐inflammatory markers are noticeably better in treated wounds.

Platelet Parameters in Nonthrombocytopenic Preeclampsia: A Case-Control Study

open access: yesمجلة كلية الطب
Background: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-specific, multisystem condition characterized by the onset of de novo hypertension and proteinuria occurring in previously normotensive women after the twentieth week of pregnancy.

Paracrine Factor Local Gradient‐Generating System for Engineering Perfusable Vascularized Hepatocyte Tissues with Perfusion‐Induced Proliferation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A paracrine factor local gradient (PFLG)‐generating system enables microvessel penetration across 3D hepatocyte tissues. The resulting vascularized constructs recapitulate hepatic sinusoidal hepatocyte—endothelial contact architecture and enhance hepatic functions in vitro.

Significance of platelet parameters in pre-eclampsia: A prospective cross-sectional study from a tertiary care center in North India

open access: yesAsian Journal of Medical Sciences
Background: Pre-eclampsia is a life-threatening disorder that develops after 20 weeks of gestation and is a major cause of maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Platelet activation plays a crucial role in its pathogenesis, contributing to end-organ

Collection and composition of autologous peripheral blood stem cells graft in patients with acute myeloid leukemia: influence on hematopoietic recovery and outcome [Skupljanje i sastav transplantata autolognih krvotvornih matičnih stanica periferne krvi u bolesnika s akutnom mijeloičnom leukemijom: utjecaj na hematološki oporavak i ishod] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) transplantation is a standard approach in the treatment of hematological malignant diseases. For the last 15 years the main source of cells for trasplantation have been peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC).
