Assessment of the phenotypic effects of Platelet Rich Fibrin on Mesenchymal Stem Cells derived from Minced Pulp [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Our aim is to investigate the effects of autologous platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on Mesenchymal Stem cell derived from Minced Pulp (MP-MSCs). We first developed a mouse model of PRF to study the phenotypic effects of PRF in cultured cells.

Quantitative structural mechanobiology of platelet-driven blood clot contraction. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Blood clot contraction plays an important role in prevention of bleeding and in thrombotic disorders. Here, we unveil and quantify the structural mechanisms of clot contraction at the level of single platelets.

Electroactive Electrospun Nanofibrous Scaffolds: Innovative Approaches for Improved Skin Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores the potential of electroactive electrospun nanofibrous (EEN) scaffolds for enhanced skin wound healing. It discusses how a variety of electroactive materials can be prepared into EEN scaffolds via electrospinning technology, and their applications in various wound types. The review provides insights into the future perspectives for

Comparison of the effects of platelet concentrates produced by high and low-speed centrifugation protocols on the healing of critical-size defects in rat calvaria: a microtomographic and histomorphometric study

open access: yesPlatelets, 2022
The current study evaluated the healing of critical-size defects (CSD) created in rat calvaria treated with platelet concentrates produced by high-speed (Leukocyte- and Platelet-Rich Fibrin - L-PRF) and low-speed (Advanced Platelet-Rich Fibrin - A-PRF ...

Comparative analysis of platelet.rich fibrin, platelet-rich fibrin with hydroxyapatite and platelet-rich fibrin with alendronate in bone regeneration: A cone-beam computed tomography analysis

open access: yesJournal of Conservative Dentistry, 2020
This clinical study was designed to evaluate the volumetric healing of periapical (PA) bone defect after PA surgery, using platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), and its combination with hydroxyapatite and alendronate.Twenty male patients of age between 25 and 35 years, having PA pathology (>5 mm on intraoral periapical radiograph (IOPA)) with intraoral sinus ...

Platelet rich fibrin as a gingival tissue regeneration enhancer

open access: yesJournal of Dental Sciences, 2021
Tissue regenerative procedures aim to enhance regeneration of altered tissue. Extensive research has been carried out in this area and all proposed procedures present limitations. In this context the area of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) research has gained tremendous awareness in the latest years.

Reversible High‐Affinity Binding of Coagulation Factor Xa to Zeolites Induces Accelerated Blood Coagulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A calcium‐dependent, specific biorecognition between coagulation factor Xa (FXa) and zeolite is discovered. It alters the prothrombin activation pathway to a more efficient mechanism by mimicking the FXa/factor Va (FXa/FVa) interaction formed during the natural coagulation cascade.
