Comparative evaluation of radiopacity and cytotoxicity of platelet-rich fibrin, platelet-rich fibrin + 50wt% nano-hydroxyapatite, platelet-rich fibrin + 50wt% dentin chips: An in vitro study.

open access: yesJournal of conservative dentistry : JCD, 2019
The aim of this study is to impart radiopacity to platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) using two different bioactive agents (nano-hydroxyapatite [nHA] and dentin chips [DC]) and to assess the cell proliferation rate induced by the modified PRF.PRF was modified with 50wt% of nHA (G bone-SHAG31, Surgiwear Company) and 50wt% of DC.

Recurrent hypoglycemia exposure increases the risk of platelet activation and thrombosis in insulin‐treated diabetic rats

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Diabetes is a widespread disease associated with long‐term complications. Treatment of diabetes alleviates these complications but cause an increased risk of recurrent hypoglycemia (RH). Hypoglycemia exposure increases the risk of cardiovascular events by an unknown mechanism.

Rotator Cuff Repair Augmented With Endogenous Fibrin Clot

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2012
Despite recent technical advances, rotator cuff repair continues to have a high retear rate. Recent research focused on biologic augmentation of rotator cuff repair with platelet-rich plasma has shown mixed results, and use of an endogenous fibrin clot ...

Ceratonia siliqua Protects Testicular Tissue in Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Testicular torsion is a urological emergency with a risk of resulting in loss of testicular function due to ischemia/reperfusion injury (I/R) injury caused by oxidative stress. Ceratonia siliqua is known to decrease oxidative stress in urological pathologies. We investigated the protective effects of C.

Efficacy of Injectable Bone Fillers for Alveolar Ridge Preservation: A Histomorphometrical Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Periodontology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To assess the efficacy of injectable bone fillers for alveolar ridge preservation (ARP). Materials and Methods The mandibular premolars (P2, P3, P4) were bilaterally assigned to ARP in a total of n = 9 beagle dogs. Each P was decapitated and hemisected under preservation of the mesial (i.e., devitalization and filling with calcium ...

Evaluation of effect on stability of implants with and without platelet rich fibrin using a resonance frequency analyzer - An in-vivo study

open access: yesHeliyon
Background: Although the conventional replacement for lost teeth has been partial or full dentures, the need for a fixed, esthetic, and functional restoration makes dental implants a reliable alternative.

A review of platelet-rich fibrin and its application in the treatment of diseases [PDF]

open access: yesبیولوژی کاربردی, 2019
Two decades have passed since platelet rich fibrin (PRF) was first introduced. The primary objective was to develop a therapy where platelet concentrates could be introduced into wounds by effectively utilizing the body’s natural healing capacity.
