Platelet-rich plasma promotes peripheral nerve regeneration after sciatic nerve injury
The effect of platelet-rich plasma on nerve regeneration remains controversial. In this study, we established a rabbit model of sciatic nerve small-gap defects with preserved epineurium and then filled the gaps with platelet-rich plasma.

Spectrophotometric determination of platelet counts in platelet-rich plasma [PDF]
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is widely used in regenerative dentistry and other medical fields. However, its effectiveness has often been questioned. For better evaluation, the quality of individual PRP preparations should be assured prior to use. We proposed a spectrophotometric method for determination of platelet counts and validated its applicability

Review of dohan eherenfest et al. (2009) on “classification of platelet concentrates: from pure platelet-rich plasma (p-prp) to leucocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin (l-prf)” [PDF]
This classic discusses the original publication of Dohan Eherenfest et al. on "Classification of platelet concentrates: from pure platelet-rich plasma (P-PRP) to leucocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF)", in which the authors propose four categories ...

Objective Patients with knee osteoarthritis rely on symptomatic treatments, in which up to 75% of the pain reduction can be attributed to the placebo effect. This effect may vary based on treatment type (eg, biologics vs nonbiologic injection) and route of administration (eg, intra‐articular vs topical vs oral).

Extraordinary room-temperature photoluminescence in WS2 monolayers [PDF]
Individual monolayers of metal dichalcogenides are atomically thin two-dimensional crystals with attractive physical properties different from their bulk layered counterpart. Here we describe the direct synthesis of WS2 monolayers with triangular morphologies and strong room-temperature photoluminescence (PL).
