Optimized Deployment Plans for Platform as a Service Clouds
Companion Proceedings of the10th International Conference on Utility and Cloud Computing, 2017We approximately solve the problem of computing deployment plans of multiple cloud services with soft real-time constraints. We recognize that this is a generalized bin packing problem with fragmentable items. We formalize the problem domain and develop an autonomous deployment planning system with soft real-time constraints.

Overview of Azure Platform as a Service
2020In this chapter, we provide a high-level view of the major services that are globally available, as well as elements of the Microsoft Azure platform as a service (PaaS). First, we discuss Azure Web Apps, support for developer frameworks, and apps that can run in containers.

Flexible Softwareänderung in Platform-as-a-Service-Angeboten

Towards Application Portability in Platform as a Service
2014 IEEE 8th International Symposium on Service Oriented System Engineering, 2014Cloud Computing has been one of the most vibrant topics in the last years. Especially Platform as a Service (PaaS) is said to be a game changer for future application development. Taking away most of the configuration work, it pledges to foster rapid application development which seems even more important in a world of complex scalable distributed ...

Dynamic Modular vCPE Orchestration in Platform as a Service Architectures
2019 IEEE 8th International Conference on Cloud Networking (CloudNet), 2019This paper proposes a framework where Customer Premises Equipments (CPEs) are dynamically instantiated, by leveraging Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Vitualisation (NFV), in the cloud as a chain of containerised virtual network functions (VNFs).

Platform as a Service API Ontology
2012Many organizations from the public and the private sector are planning to turn to Cloud Computing services, whose main benefits are flexibility, pay-per-use model and significant cost reduction. However, this new business paradigm for the provision of computing infrastructure has certain obstacles, including provider lock-in.

Service-Level Interoperability Issues of Platform as a Service
2015 IEEE World Congress on Services, 2015The numerous heterogeneities among different providers make platform as a service interoperability an interesting and complex research and practical problem. For example, each provider offers its own remote application programming interfaces (APIs). The main aim of this paper is to identify and address service- level interoperability issues when using ...

Developing Software Online With Platform-as-a-Service Technology
Computer, 2008One of the hot topics in computer technology is software as a service, in which vendors host applications on the Internet and provide them via a browser to users, who perform and store their work online. Users thus don't have to worry about developing, hosting, updating, or maintaining applications or storing data.
