The aluminization of platinum and platinum-coated IN-738

Metallurgical Transactions A, 1977
The chemistry and morphology of aluminide coatings formed on platinum and platinum-coated IN-738 have been studied. Most of the aluminide coatings evaluated were applied using the pack cementation process. For aluminized platinum a series of intermetallic Pt-Al compounds form.

Platinum silicide formation: Electron spectroscopy of the platinum-platinum silicide interface

Journal of Applied Physics, 1974
Platinum silicide formation has been studied by Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) in conjunction with argon ion depth profiling. These techniques were used to probe the chemistry of the interface between the Pt metal and PtSi formed from two standard platinum deposition processes: dc sputtering and filament ...

Platinum

2014
Platinum (Pt) is not a native metal in biology, but is the key component of selected anti-cancer drugs with universally recognized efficacy. Three Pt(II) compounds (cisplatin, carboplatin and oxaliplatin) are currently used, mainly for the clinical treatment of solid tumours, given favourable ligand-exchange kinetics and ability to interact with DNA ...
