Platinum group elements recycling processes
Abstract The recycling of platinum group elements (PGEs) has attracted much attention in recent years. This chapter describes the importance of recycling PGE secondary resources and reutilization of the recovered metallic values.

We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Platinum-group mineralization at the margin of the Skaergaard intrusion, East Greenland
Two occurrences of platinum-group elements (PGEs) along the northern margin of the Skaergaard intrusion include a sulfide-bearing gabbro with slightly less than 1 ppm PGE + Au and a clinopyroxene-actinolite-plagioclase-biotite-ilmenite schist with 16 vol%

Adsorptive removal of platinum group elements
Abstract This chapter is a general overview of adsorptive removal of platinum group elements (PGEs) from different sources. It deals with the challenges in drawbacks of traditional PGE removal and recovery techniques. The chapter also points to the necessity for sustainable and efficient recovery methods and delves into the mechanism of ...

Spatially Modulated Morphotropic Phase Boundaries in a Compressively Strained Multiferroic Thin Film
ABSTRACT The coexisting rhombohedral‐like (R′, MA) and tetragonal‐like (T′, MC) monoclinic phases in compressively strained bismuth ferrite thin films exhibit exceptional piezoelectric and magnetic properties. While previous studies have largely focused on probing the morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs) comprising ordered R′/T′ twins, their self ...

Platinum Group Elements in Birds of Prey
The environmental concentrations of Pd, Pt and Rh (three of the platinum group elements, PGE) have increased since the introduction of exhaust catalysts on automobiles. A limited understanding of the environmental distribution and effects of the platinum

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...
