Platinum-group minerals in alpine chromitites from southwestern Oregon

Economic Geology, 1984
Electron microprobe and scanning electron microscopy. The platinum-group minerals found in the chromitites are laurite, porous Ru-rich alloys, Os-Ir- and Pt-rich alloys with highly variable compositions, an Ir-Cu-rich sulfide, a Pt arsenide, and three relatively rare platinum-group sulfides.

Platinum-Group Minerals from the Durance River Alluvium, France

Mineralogy and Petrology, 1990
Platinum-group minerals were discovered, during gold recovery, in the Durance river alluvium, near Peyrolles (Bouches-du-Rhone). The PGM grains (average size 130 microns) are strongly flattened (average thickness 64 microns). The PGM concentrate consists primarily of (Pt, Fe) alloys (92%), (Os, Ir, Ru) alloys (3.5%), and native gold and (Au, Cu, Ag ...

Platinum Group Element Geochemistry of Mineralized and Nonmineralized Komatiites and Basalts

Economic Geology, 2010
Platinum-group elements (PGE) are strongly chalcophile and are therefore potentially sensitive indicators of processes involving segregation and accumulation of sulfide melts from silicate magmas. Over 500 new high-precision PGE data for komatiites and komatiitic basalts, spanning a wide range of emplacement and crystallization histories, have been ...

Platinum-group minerals in the Jinchuan complex, China

2010
Platinum-group elements (PGE) and minerals (PGM), most commonly froodite (PdBi2), michenerite (PdTeBi), padrnaite (PdBiSe), sperrylite (PtAsz) and irarsite (IrAsS), have been analysed from the Jinchuan Ni-Cu-PGE sulphide deposit in the south western margin of the North China Craton in China.

Genesis of Platinum Group Element Minerals in Ultrabasites Unrelated to Ophiolites

Proceedings, 2008
