Vértices, 2013 Through a pragmatic look of Plato’s ‘The Republic’ and the ‘Seventh Letter', I analyze the pertinence or irrelevance of anti-essentialist criticism introduced by Nietzsche and Rorty, seeking a pragmatist redescription of Plato himself. I conclude by stressing the advantages of a democratic pragmatism in relation to the Platonic theoretical tradition.
