Bimetallic Bismuth‐Based Nanoparticles From Pseudo‐Tetrahedral Zintl Anions
Bismuth‐based Zintl anions are explored as precursors for synthesizing bimetallic nanoparticles with tunable compositions and morphologies, including alloyed, core–shell, and Janus types. The resulting nanoparticles display composition‐dependent UV absorption.

The status of dosage compensation in the multiple X chromosomes of the platypus. [PDF]
Dosage compensation has been thought to be a ubiquitous property of sex chromosomes that are represented differently in males and females. The expression of most X-borne genes is equalized between XX females and XY males in therian mammals (marsupials ...

Role of the cluster structure of $^7$Li in the dynamics of fragment capture
Exclusive measurements of prompt $\gamma$-rays from the heavy-residues with various light charged particles in the $^7$Li + $^{198}$Pt system, at an energy near the Coulomb barrier (E/$V_b$ $\sim$ 1.6) are reported.

ABSTRACT Shore‐based observers are increasingly being used in place of at‐sea observers to monitor and sample commercial fisheries catch. However, few evaluations assess whether these programs meet their stated goals or how to optimize them, and industry data are rarely tested for accuracy despite serving as the foundation for catch accounting. Using a

Subtree power analysis finds optimal species for comparative genomics [PDF]
Sequence comparison across multiple organisms aids in the detection of regions under selection. However, resource limitations require a prioritization of genomes to be sequenced.

The platypus: evolutionary history, biology, and an uncertain future
The platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) is one of the world’s most evolutionarily distinct mammals, one of five extant species of egg-laying mammals, and the only living species within the family Ornithorhynchidae.

The raphe nuclear organization and serotonergic system in the bat (Artibeus planirostris)
Schematic representation of the methodological workflow used to characterize the serotonergic (5‐HT) system in the bat Artibeus planirostris. Serotonin (5‐HT) immunohistochemistry was performed on brainstem sections to identify and map the distribution of serotonergic neurons within the raphe nuclei.

Annotation and Characterization of the Zacco platypus Genome
The pale chub Zacco platypus (Cypriniformes; Xenocyprididae; Jordan & Evermann, 1902) is widely distributed across freshwater ecosystems in East Asia and has been recognized as a potential model fish species for ecotoxicology and environmental monitoring.
