A Novel Crawling Robot Based on the Hexagonal Mesh Structure and Enhanced PID Control Strategy

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The locomotion of crawling robots is similar to that of caterpillars, relying on foot adhesion and body contraction to ensure flexible movement without compromising stability. However, most existing pneumatic soft crawling robots are incapable of simultaneously achieving forward, backward, turning, and climbing capabilities.

Sleep assessment using accelerometry: Not all algorithms are equal

open access: yesSleep Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Study objectives Accelerometry devices are increasingly used to assess sleep. However, whether different algorithms provide consistent estimates remains uncertain. This study compared sleep parameters derived from two accelerometry‐based algorithms and a self‐reported sleep journal.

Thermo‐Chemically Modified Silk Scaffolds Reveal Niche‐Driven Regulation of Hematopoiesis and Fibrosis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We introduce a versatile 3D platform that recreates key physical and biological features of the human bone marrow. By integrating tunable silk biomaterials, stromal cells, and human hematopoietic progenitors, the model captures both healthy and diseased microenvironments, analysis of blood formation, and its disruption in pathological conditions ...
