New constraints on primordial gravitational waves from Planck 2015

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
We show that the new precise measurements of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature and polarization anisotropies made by the Planck satellite significantly improves previous constraints on the cosmic gravitational waves background (CGWB) at ...

The effect of masonry infill walls on the reinforced concrete frames behavior under lateral load [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The reinforced concrete structures with masonry infill walls are widely used to construct buildings in Algeria, as in many parts of the world. According to earthquake analysis, this type of construction can undergo serious damage under seismic load.

Self‐Hybridized Exciton‐Polariton Photodetectors From Layered Metal‐Organic Chalcogenolates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐hybridized exciton‐polariton photodetectors are demonstrated using high refractive index mithrene, eliminating the need for top mirrors. This simplified architecture enables tunable sub‐bandgap photodetection via lower exciton‐polariton states and enhanced carrier transport through ultrafast polariton group velocities.

From RNA to DNA: How Cargo Identity Reprograms Lipid Nanoparticle Architecture and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The evolution of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) spans from RNA‐LNPs, used in mRNA vaccines, to DNA‐LNPs, ideal for gene therapies. Emerging bionano architectures, decorated with DNA and plasma proteins, pave the way for advanced DNA‐based therapies that are more stable, targeted, and customizable.

Protective Immunity against Vibrio harveyi in Grouper Induced by Single Vaccination with Poly (Lactide-co-glycolide) Microparticles Releasing Pleurocidin Peptide and Recombinant Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate Dehydrogenase

open access: yesVaccines, 2020
The peptide adjuvant, pleurocidin (PLE), and the Vibrio harveyi antigen, recombinant glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (rGAPDH) protein, were encapsulated with poly (lactide-co-glycolide) (PLG) polymers in our previous study to produce PLG ...

Extending PLE models into the mid-IR, far-IR & sub-mm

open access: yes, 2010
Simple pure luminosity evolution (PLE) models, in which galaxies brighten at high redshift due to increased star-formation rates (SFRs), are known to provide a good fit to the colours and number counts of galaxies throughout the optical and near-infrared.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and
