3D CAPABILITIES OF PLEIADES SATELLITE [PDF]
End of 2011 a new optical satellite, called Pléiades, was launched by the French space agency (CNES). It provides 20 km x 20 km images at 0.5 meters. This agile acquisition system is able to relocate very rapidly and scan the earth in any direction. The

Keck Spectra of Pleiades Brown Dwarf Candidates and a Precise Determination of the Lithium Depletion Edge in the Pleiades [PDF]
We have obtained intermediate resolution spectra of eleven candidate brown dwarf members of the Pleiades open cluster using the Keck II telescope and LRIS spectrograph. Our primary goal was to determine the location of the "lithium depletion edge" in the Pleiades and hence to derive a precise age for the cluster.

Radiometric and geometric characteristics of Pleiades images [PDF]
Pleiades images are distributed with 50 cm ground sampling distance (GSD) even if the physical resolution for nadir images is just 70 cm. By theory this should influence the effective GSD determined by means of point spread function at image edges ...

Potential of Pléiades and WorldView-3 Tri-Stereo DSMs to Represent Heights of Small Isolated Objects
High-resolution stereo and multi-view imagery are used for digital surface model (DSM) derivation over large areas for numerous applications in topography, cartography, geomorphology, and 3D surface modelling.

ROTATION IN THE PLEIADES WITH K2. I. DATA AND FIRST RESULTS [PDF]
Young (125 Myr), populous (>1000 members), and relatively nearby, the Pleiades has provided an anchor for stellar angular momentum models for both younger and older stars. We used K2 to explore the distribution of rotation periods in the Pleiades.

Simultaneous Kepler/K2 and XMM‐Newton observations of superflares in the Pleiades [PDF]
Context. Flares are powerful events ignited by a sudden release of magnetic energy which triggers a cascade of interconnected phenomena, each resulting in emission in different electromagnetic bands.

ORFEO, THE PLEIADES ACCOMPANIMENT PROGRAM AND ITS USERS THEMATIC COMMISSIONING [PDF]
ORFEO, the PLEIADES Accompaniment Program, was set up by CNES, the French Space Agency, to prepare, accompany and promote the use and the exploitation of the images acquired by this Very High Resolution optical sensor. It was initiated in 2004 and will

Maize plays a key role in agricultural profitability and food security on six continents. Successful efforts to breed higher‐yielding maize varieties depend on replicated yield trials in many environments. Capturing in‐season data can help improve and accelerate the development of regionally adapted hybrids, but collecting these data can be impractical

Images of the Pleiades of the Turkic and Mongolic Peoples
Introduction. The Pleiades star cluster (hereinafter referred to as a constellation) was of extreme importance in the lives of the nomads of Inner and Central Asia of all the astral objects visible in the night sky.
