A case of giant sarcomatoid carcinoma ex-pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2020
Carcinoma ex pleomorphic adenoma is a rare malignant parotid neoplasm arising from primary or recurrent benign pleomorphic adenoma. Histologically, it can be sub-classified by upwards of eight different variations (e.g., myoepithelial carcinoma, salivary

SSR4 sustains Tertiary Lymphoid Structures by Regulation Quality Control of N‐linked Glycosylation During B‐cell Differentiation Into Plasmacyte in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SSR4, a TRAP component induced in B cells, governs BAFFR N‐glycosylation via DDOST to sustain NF‐κB signaling, B‐cell differentiation, and TLS maturation. Its loss impairs anti‐tumor immunity, while overexpression improves antibody glycosylation and ADCC, revealing a critical regulator for cancer immunotherapy.

Metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma of parotid gland: Case report

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports
Pleomorphic adenoma is a benign tumor and the most common salivary gland neoplasm. Metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma shares histological characteristics with pleomorphic adenoma but exhibits malignant behavior, including local lymph node involvement and ...

Crosstalk Between Parkinson's Disease and Colorectal Cancer: Genetic Mechanisms, Gut Microbiota, and Therapeutic Insights

open access: yesHealth Care Science, EarlyView.
This review elucidates the crosstalk between Parkinson's disease and colorectal cancer, driven by shared genetics (PRKN, PINK1, DJ‐1) involving oxidative stress, cell cycle regulation, and inflammation. It identifies the gut microbiota—via functional amyloids and short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs)—as a mechanistic bridge, offering insights for dual ...

Multimodality Imaging of Metastasizing Pleomorphic Adenoma Presenting as a Solitary Pulmonary Nodule without Local Tumor Recurrence: A Case Report

open access: yes대한영상의학회지, 2016
Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common neoplasm of the salivary gland. It is usually a well-circumscribed and slow-growing benign tumor. In rare instances, benign pleomorphic adenomas may metastasize and spread to distant sites in which case they are ...

Botulinum Toxin for First Bite Syndrome: A Symptom‐Guided “Follow‐The‐Pain” Injection Strategy

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background To evaluate botulinum toxin type A (BoNT‐A) for First Bite Syndrome (FBS) and assess a symptom‐guided “Follow‐the‐Pain” (FTP) injection strategy in patients with incomplete response to standard treatment. Methods Consecutive patients with postoperative FBS were treated with ultrasound‐guided intraparotid BoNT‐A injection.

Endoscope-assisted transoral excision of a huge parapharyngeal pleomorphic adenoma

open access: yesB-ENT, 2011
Endoscope-assisted transoral excision of a huge parapharyngeal pleomorphic adenoma. The treatment of choice for a parapharyngeal pleomorphic adenoma is total surgical resection.

Pleomorphic adenoma of the cheek: a case presentation

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Otolaryngology, 2022
Background Pleomorphic adenoma, also known as a benign mixed tumor, is the most common salivary gland tumor. The parotid gland accounts for 90% of the total, with the minor salivary glands accounting for 10%.

Pleomorphic Adenoma of the Trachea [PDF]

open access: yesRespiration, 2010
Pleomorphic adenoma is a common neoplasm of salivary glands, but its occurrence in the trachea is very rare [1] . Tracheal tumors, including tracheal pleomorphic adenoma, often cause obstructive symptoms such as dyspnea and wheezing mimicking asthma, leading to delay in diagnosis [2] .

Utility of Combining FIESTA‐C and MENSA for Facial Nerve Identification in Parotid Gland Surgery

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This study evaluated the role of FIESTA‐C and MENSA in facial nerve identification and tumor localization in parotid gland surgery. The combination of FIESTA‐C and MENSA improved the accuracy of facial nerve identification and tumor localization compared to either sequence alone.
