A Dilated CNN‐Based Model for Stress Detection Using Raw PPG Signals

open access: yesIET Wireless Sensor Systems, Volume 15, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This study introduces a novel stress detection model using Dilated Convolutional Neural Networks (Dilated CNNs) to analyse raw Photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals. The model, tested on the WESAD dataset, achieved a test accuracy of 93.56% and an AUC of 96.52%, demonstrating its potential for real‐time stress detection in wearable devices. ABSTRACT Stress,

Medical Investigations on the Wintering Members of the 10th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition : I. Circulatory Condition of Finger Tip in Antarctica (Reports of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition)

open access: yesAntarctic Record, 1972
As a member of the 10th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition, the author spent a year (1969-1970) at Syowa Station in Antarctica. Circulatory condition and function of the fingers of the wintering members were studied.

Measurement of Pulse Wave Signals and Blood Pressure by a Plastic Optical Fiber FBG Sensor

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors fabricated in silica optical fiber (Silica-FBG) have been used to measure the strain of human arteries as pulse wave signals. A variety of vital signs including blood pressure can be derived from these signals.

Development of limb volume measuring system [PDF]

open access: yes
The mechanisms underlying the reductions in orthostatic tolerance associated with weightlessness are not well established. Contradictory results from measurements of leg volume changes suggest that altered venomotor tone and reduced blood flow may not be

Compliance, hysteresis, and collapsibility of human small airways [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We tested the hypothesis that airway wall dimensions are important determinants for the mechanical properties of airways. Lung tissue was obtained from 31 smokers with different degrees of chronic obstructive pulmonary ...

Effect of ASP8062 on morphine self-administration and morphine-induced respiratory suppression in monkeys

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2023
ASP8062 is an orally available GABAB receptor positive allosteric modulator (PAM). This study assessed the potential of ASP8062 for treating opioid use disorder (OUD).

Interleukin 4, but not interleukin 5 or eosinophils, is required in a murine model of acute airway hyperreactivity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Reversible airway hyperreactivity underlies the pathophysiology of asthma, yet the precise mediators of the response remain unclear. Human studies have correlated aberrant activation of T helper (Th) 2-like effector systems in the airways with disease. A
