The value of chest ultrasonography applications in the respiratory ICU

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Bronchology, 2019
Background Diverse imaging systems can be utilized for the evaluation of chest issues in ICU patients; ultrasound (US) is a decent analytic instrument without exposing the patients to radiation and risk of transfer.

Case Report and Review of Literature: Familial Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma in a 39 Years Old Patient With an Inconclusive 18F-FDG PET/CT Result

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery, 2022
Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare yet aggressive neoplasm that was linked only to asbestos exposure for decades, although familial clusters were diagnosed with MPM without a known history of asbestos exposure most likely due to genetic ...

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

Full‐Body AI Agent: A Perspective on Multi‐Scale Collaborative AI for Systemic Biology and Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We propose the Full‐Body AI Agent, a multi‐scale collaborative framework with 7 biological‐layer agents. It unifies multi‐omics/clinical data via standardized protocols, enabling phenotype‐guided closed‐loop reasoning, quantitative evaluation, and LLM safeguards, with promising applications in tumor metastasis modeling and precision drug development ...

Extramedullary Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML): Leukemic Pleural Effusion, Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2014
Objective and Importance: Malignant pleural effusions occur in the setting of both solid and hematologic malignancies. Pleural effusion caused by leukemic infiltration is an unusual extramedullary manifestation of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with fewer ...

Liquid Metal Nanotransformers for Drug‐Resistant Pan‐Cancer Therapy in Patient‐Derived Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pan‐cancer therapies are severely limited in drug‐resistance patients due to genetic mutations and other factors, resulting in poor therapeutic outcomes and constrained clinical benefit. Liquid metal nanotransformers, a new class of shape‐transformable nanomaterials capable of dramatic morphological changes, offer a promising physical strategy to ...
