Optimum plot size for experiments with the sunflower1 [PDF]
The aim of this study was to determine a suitable plot size for field experiments with the sunflower. An experiment was carried out in a randomised complete block design with 14 sunflower cultivars and 10 replications. The plots consisted of four rows, six metres in length, spaced 0.7 m apart with 0.3 m between plants.

Plot Size, Adjacency, and Farmland Rental Contract Choice
The purpose of this paper is to assess the impact of plot size on the components of farmland rental contracts choice and evaluate the effects of its heterogeneities on different plot characteristics in the context of China. Based on the data from a nationally representative sample of 1215 plots among 5 provinces in rural China, this paper yields robust

Plot Size in Sugarcane Family Selection Experiments
This study aimed at verifying the effect of the number of plants per plot on the evaluation of sugarcane families. Five full-sib families were evaluated in randomized complete blocks with 250 genotypes per plot in 3 replications. Each plot consisted of 5 rows with 50 plants each.

ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with ovarian cancer often present with massive ascites, leading to significant protein loss during surgical procedures. Although cell‐free concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART) is used in palliative settings to mitigate protein loss, its application in intraoperative settings remains unexplored.

Plot-size for 15N-fertilizer recovery studies by tanzania-grass [PDF]
O entendimento da dinâmica do N em ecossistemas de pastagens pode ser melhorado por estudos em que se utilize a técnica do traçador 15N. Nesses experimentos, deve-se assegurar que o movimento lateral do traçador não interfira nos resultados.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Optimal plot size in lettuce seed germination experiments
Lettuce in works under controlled conditions is widely used in experiments with a direct focus on the species itself, or as an indicator species used in allelopathy works. But despite its frequent use, there is no support in the literature for using a single plot size and, therefore, there are works from the use of 5 to 100 seeds per experimental plot.

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...
