Modelling and Control of Offshore Ploughing Operations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Summary: In this thesis work, mathematical models required to simulate an offshore ploughing operation has been derived. This includes a surface vessel model, a model of the plough and its friction force due to seabed sediment and a towline model.

Wear‐Mode‐Dependent Tribological Performance of Glass Fiber‐Reinforced Epoxy Composites Modified With Graphene Nanoplatelets

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Graphical representation of the wear‐mode‐dependent tribological behavior of graphene nanoplatelet (GNP) modified glass fiber‐reinforced epoxy composites, highlighting the distinct mechanisms governing dry sliding wear and solid particle erosion. ABSTRACT Glass fiber‐reinforced epoxy composites are widely used in structural applications where surface ...

Water infiltration into soil related to the soil tillage intensity

open access: yesSoil and Water Research, 2007
Soil infiltration capacity is one of the key factors in the soil protection against unfavourable effects of water erosion. The purpose of its measuring was to compare and evaluate the changes of the soil physical properties and of water infiltration into

Using ecoinformatics to evaluate the impact of crop and herbicide rotations on herbicide intensity

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Maize fields with cotton in rotation receive lower herbicide application than fields without cotton. Abstract BACKGROUND Crop rotation is a central component of integrated weed management (IWM) under real‐world conditions, yet its impact on herbicide use remains unclear. To address this challenge, we developed an ecoinformatics‐driven analysis approach

Disease control in oilseed rape: Current insights and perspectives for next‐generation integrated pest management

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Winter oilseed rape in Europe suffers frequent pathogen losses. This review outlines key integrated pest management (IPM) strategies, rotation, residue and tillage management, optimized sowing, resistance, and targeted fungicides supported by forecasting.

Gender, Social Reproduction and the Construction of Capabilities for Social Sustainability of Agriculture: A Relational Approach

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Farmers' capabilities, a core component of social sustainability, have been largely neglected in sustainable agriculture discourse. Using a relational approach to capabilities and autonomy, this study explores how women farmers translate the opportunity of agricultural innovation into their valued outcomes, and which factors shape their ...

Draught requirements of enamel coated animal drawn mouldboard plough

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2005
The power requirement of tillage implements is an important design consideration particularly for animal-drawn implements where the power is limited. The paper presents the possibility of reduction in the draught requirements of animal-drawn mouldboard ...

Glocal Regenerative Viticulture: Exploring Sustainable Winemaking Strategies in Europe

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The global wine industry is transforming due to climate change challenges. Glocalization is increasingly relevant in winemaking, where geographical and cultural diversity requires context‐specific solutions in the existing sustainability spectrum in viticulture.

Influence of Viscous Dissipation on Wear Behavior and Hardness Evolution of Tool Steels in Glass‐Fiber‐Reinforced Polymer Processing

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Tool steels tested under injection molding conditions with glass‐fiber‐reinforced polymers, revealing how viscous dissipation drives hardness loss, even in PM grades. A sharp rise in wear with increasing injection volume rate and thermomechanical load uncovers striking material differences.

Impact of working depth of the non-ploughing tillage system on service load

open access: yes, 2006
Przedstawiono wyniki badań obciążeń eksploatacyjnych agregatu do bezorkowej uprawy gleby. Omówiono przebieg i wyniki pomiarów oporów roboczych i naprężeń w ramie agregatu, przy różnym zagłębieniu zębów.
