Equivalence of LCP and PLS

Mathematics of Operations Research, 1981
It is our purpose here to show that two prototype models of complementary pivot and fixed point theory and the corresponding path following solution methods are conceptually equivalent.

Comments on multilinear PLS

Journal of Chemometrics, 1997
Recently, Bro published a paper on multilinear PLS (J. Chemometrics, 10, 47–61 (1996)) in which he proposed a generalization of PLS to multiway situations, called multilinear PLS, which is a mixture of a trilinear model (PARAFAC) and PLS. However, Bro does not give the equations for the prediction step.

Binding and Orientation of Conantokins in PL Vesicles and Aligned PL Multilayers

Biochemistry, 2003
The association of a ligand with its cognate cell surface receptor can be facilitated by interactions between the ligand and the lipid phase of the cell membrane. With respect to the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR), we have previously established a low affinity, nonreceptor-mediated interaction of the peptidic conantokins with synaptic membranes ...

Tips to use partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) in knowledge management

Journal of Knowledge Management, 2019
PurposeStructural equation modelling (SEM) has been defined as the combination of latent variables and structural relationships. The partial least squares SEM (PLS-SEM) is used to estimate complex cause-effect relationship models with latent variables as

Elementares PL/I

1990

Deflation in multiblock PLS

Journal of Chemometrics, 2001
AbstractThis paper describes some of the deflation problems in multiblock PLS. Deflation of X using block scores leads to inferior prediction of Y. Deflation of X using super scores gives the same predictions as standard PLS with all variables in one large X‐block, but the information of the separate blocks gets mixed up owing to the deflation of X. If

PL-detective

Proceedings of the 36th SIGCSE technical symposium on Computer science education, 2005
Last year we described the PL-Detective, a system for building exercises and demonstrations in a programming languages course. One of the main goals of the PL-Detective was to provide an experimental environment with which students could interact in order to discover the information that they needed to complete the exercise.

Subset/G PL/I and the PL/I Standard

Proceedings of the 1983 annual conference on Computers : Extending the human resource - ACM 83, 1983
Subset/G PL/I (G for General Purpose) is a subset of full Standard PL/I. Both Subset/G PL/I and Standard PL/I are defined by standards issued by the American National Standards Institute. Subset/G evolved in the late 1970's as a result of a growing realization that full PL/I was a remarkably effective (if much maligned) language but at the same time a ...
