Generative Plug and Play: Posterior Sampling for Inverse Problems
Over the past decade, Plug-and-Play (PnP) has become a popular method for reconstructing images using a modular framework consisting of a forward and prior model. The great strength of PnP is that an image denoiser can be used as a prior model while the forward model can be implemented using more traditional physics-based approaches.

DAWSSM: A plug-and-play Drone Assisted Water Sampling and Sensing Module
IECON 2021 – 47th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2021Increasing water pollution necessitates frequent monitoring of water bodies, which is quite time-consuming and costly when done manually, especially for remote locations. Multi-rotor drones can be used for collecting water samples and transporting them to the laboratory for testing, since they are convenient for carrying small payloads and offer ...

A Novel Iterative Thresholding Algorithm Based on Plug-and-Play Priors for Compressive Sampling [PDF]
We propose a novel fast iterative thresholding algorithm for image compressive sampling (CS) recovery using three existing denoisers—i.e., TV (total variation), wavelet, and BM3D (block-matching and 3D filtering) denoisers. Through the use of the recently introduced plug-and-play prior approach, we turn these denoisers into CS solvers. Thus, our method

Influence of sample plug width in capillary electrochromatography
Journal of Chromatography A, 1997Capillary electrochromatography (CEC) is a highly efficient miniaturized chromatographic technique that is very sensitive to extra-column band broadening effects. It is investigated whether band broadening due to the sample injection process is within a tolerable range for the standard sample injection procedures usually employed in CEC.

Shale Permeability Measurements on Plugs and Crushed Samples
SPE Canadian Unconventional Resources Conference, 2012Abstract The economic viability of a shale play is strongly dependent on permeability which is often on the order of nanodarcies. Permeabilities are measured on core plugs or crushed samples using unsteady state techniques. However, the resultant permeabilities are the sources of controversy, because of the inconsistency in the ...

The Phenomenon of Sample Tube Plugging
1985In order to overcome the limited recovered lengths and sample disturbance associated with driven sampling, long stroke hydraulic push or piston samplers have been developed for offshore operations in recent years. Use of such samplers, however, does not always result in recovered sample lengths consistent with the distance pushed.

Sample plug tailing and cold trap effect in hot split sampling
Chromatographia, 1989Sample plug tailing together with a cold trap effect brings about discrimination against low boiling components at an initial column temperature above the boiling point of the solvent. In conventional split injection, this compensates for the opposite effects of such factors as the gas phase viscocity change and the pressure wave during the split ...

Sampling From Nanoliter Plugs via Asymmetrical Splitting of Segmented Flow
Analytical Chemistry, 2010A microfluidic device is developed to sample from oil-segmented fluid plugs of nanoliter volume by passive splitting. In the device, plugs are pumped into a loop where they split according to the flow resistance of each arm of the loop. The loop structure prevents changes in flow resistance over time, caused by accumulation of plugs in downstream ...

Geomechanical characterization of shale samples after pore plugging with nanomaterials
Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2022Abstract Chemical agents capable of sealing pores and micro-fractures can be used to solve wellbore instability in shales. Nanomaterials, as sealing agents, have been applied to test fluids, and their wellbore strengthening effects were evaluated by triaxial tests. A recommended workflow is given to first conduct pore pressure transmission tests, and
