Impact of household plumbing fixtures on drinking water quality — a review
International Journal of Environmental Studies, 1999This paper reviews the pertinent literature published since 1970 on the impact of household plumbing systems on drinking water quality through the leaching of metals such as cadmium, copper, iron, lead, tin and zinc into potable water. Copper is found to be more easily and extensively leached than lead.

Journal - American Water Works Association, 1990Proposed US legislation would establish nationwide water‐use efficiency standards for plumbing fixtures and appliances. The legislation is intended to reduce the need for and costs of developing new sources of raw water by reducing demand.
